Born in Tehran in 1956. Educated in: College of Cinema and Television (IRIB College). He began to collaborate with IRIB after graduation; in 1986 he began his formal experience in filmmaking in the capacity of the director of photography in UNDER THE RAIN (Seifollah Daad); Directed TV Series MIRZA KUCHAK OF THE FOREST; In 1991 he made his first directorial venture, THE BRIDE, a big hit of the year; in year 2000 he was elected for Iranian Islamic Parliment.
